Loora announced a $22 million Series B on September 16 to develop its AI English tutor. Union Tech Ventures led the round, with vgames, Emerge, Hearst Ventures and QP Ventures participating. The company says it has raised $43.25 million in total.
The app lets learners practice English through conversation. Loora says its service has reached 15 million learners and that more than 100 companies, governments and universities use its business product.
In a note announcing the financing, co-founders Roy Mor and Yonti Levin said they plan to grow the team from 30 to 60 people over six months, concentrating much of that expansion in AI research and engineering.
