Anthropic has walked away from talks to buy Israeli AI startup Decart for about $6 billion, Bloomberg reported on September 8, citing people familiar with the discussions. Globes also reported that the negotiations had ended, drawing on sources close to Decart.
The reports update the sale process first described by CTech on August 10. The reported billions represented possible acquisition terms, not money Decart had raised or proceeds from a completed sale.
Decart develops software intended to make AI training and inference more efficient, alongside models for generating and changing video. Bloomberg said the companies could still explore other ways to work together. Representatives of both companies declined to comment to Bloomberg, and the reporting did not establish a mutually confirmed reason for ending the talks.
