Upwind has announced the acquisition of Aegis alongside a new AI security research lab. The Aegis team will join researchers, engineers and product teams working on security challenges created by increasingly autonomous software.
The lab plans to study how to protect AI infrastructure, build agents that investigate incidents and evaluate security systems against realistic cyber scenarios. Upwind also identified GPU security, memory systems and automated investigations as areas of work.
For the Israeli-founded cloud-security company, the move combines an acquisition with a longer-term research effort. Its announcement describes several areas for development rather than a single newly available product.
Upwind did not disclose a purchase price in the announcement. It also did not provide a separate legal closing date, so the confirmed news is the acquisition announcement and the creation of the lab.
