Clalit is building an AI security gateway with Check Point to support wider use of AI across its health services. CTech reported the multimillion-shekel agreement on September 27. Clalit's IT and Digital Division has also announced the partnership.
The division says the work covers services used by about five million customers. Led by chief information and digital officer Avi Attia, it plans to protect information moving between staff, medical systems and AI models, then connect further systems as use expands.
An employee pasting an identifiable patient record into a public AI tool is one risk the project seeks to address. Software agents present another: an application can access information outside the scope of its task. According to CTech, the gateway is intended to monitor agents and block unusual actions by connected applications.
Check Point will retain the intellectual property and aims to commercialize the technology, CTech reports. The health fund's security chief, Avivit Kotler, told the publication that Check Point would see metadata but would have no access to patient data. Those records would remain within Clalit.
Kotler expects broad deployment in the first quarter of 2027. The system has not been reported as fully operational, and the exact contract price remains undisclosed.
