Ondas announced on September 23 that it had acquired Insignito, Ottopia Defense and Caribou Labs for combined consideration of $56 million in cash or shares. The agreements also include up to $32 million in additional payments tied to performance milestones through 2028.
The businesses add different capabilities to Ondas' autonomous systems portfolio. Insignito develops acoustic drone detection; Ottopia Defense connects remotely operated systems with human operators; and Caribou Labs develops communications and navigation technology for environments where satellite positioning is unavailable.
Ottopia separately confirmed that the sale covers its defense business. Its commercial operation will continue, focusing on autonomous vehicles and robotics. Ondas says it intends to integrate the acquired technologies across its existing platforms.
