Gilat Satellite Networks announced on September 9 that its DataPath subsidiary had received a US government order worth more than $32 million for transportable satellite-communications systems. The Israeli company expects deliveries to take place over the following twelve months.
The order covers DKET ground systems designed to keep communications available when infrastructure must be moved or service restored at another location. Gilat says the award expands an existing line of work for its defense business.
The contract gives the company additional scheduled equipment deliveries in the US market. Gilat did not disclose the number of systems ordered or a detailed delivery timetable, and the announced contract value should not be read as revenue already recognized.
