CollPlant completed its acquisition of LightSolver on September 3, following an agreement announced on August 31. The deal adds photonic computing to CollPlant’s existing regenerative-medicine business.
LightSolver, founded by Weizmann Institute physicists, develops a Laser Processing Unit that uses interacting lasers to perform calculations. The company targets demanding simulation, engineering and optimization workloads. Its August announcement set a goal of commercial availability in 2028; that remains a development target.
At closing, CollPlant issued shares and pre-funded warrants and invested $5 million in LightSolver. Additional warrants depend on technological and commercial milestones. The disclosed structure does not establish a simple cash acquisition price, and the $5 million investment is only one part of the transaction.
