Cognex agreed on September 22 to acquire RealSense for approximately $500 million in cash. RealSense, the depth-camera and computer-vision business spun out of Intel in 2025, has a substantial engineering presence in Israel, according to Globes.
The buyer plans to combine RealSense’s three-dimensional sensing technology with its industrial machine-vision products. RealSense cameras help robots perceive their surroundings, including in factories and mobile autonomous systems.

Cognex expects the deal to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to customary conditions. Its planned employee retention payments and stock awards are separate from the acquisition price. Before closing, RealSense is also due to separate its facial-authentication product line into an independent business.
