PayPal plans to cut about 70 jobs in Israel, according to September 3 reports by Globes and The Times of Israel. A company spokesperson confirmed the proposed staffing changes to The Times of Israel but declined to disclose their size. CTech had reported dozens of local cuts a day earlier.
The reductions affect PayPal’s Tel Aviv development operation, where teams work on cybersecurity, risk management and fraud prevention. Its local workforce includes data scientists, software engineers and product developers. The center develops systems that analyze transactions and help detect fraud.
PayPal said the changes form part of its previously announced multiyear effort to simplify global operations. The company also said it would support employees through the transition.
